Background
Warshin’s records describe reforestation and greening as activities carried out in several settings: parks, neighbourhoods, village spaces and school grounds. Some campaigns were organized jointly with other associations or local bodies; other records describe planting by Warshin with community participation.
Objectives
- Create and care for green spaces in community settings.
- Involve residents and volunteers in planting activities.
- Connect greening with awareness of shared environmental responsibility.
Activities implemented
- The April 2022 joint campaign in Qamishli was carried out with the Agriculture Authority and multiple participants. Warshin participated; the campaign’s overall tree count is not attributed solely to the association.
- The 2022 records also describe planting in Tal Shair and Taalak, and a December campaign involving local organizations and Qamishli Municipality.
- The 2023 reports record planting in parks and villages including Kudu, Kishka and Kutia.
- The 2024 account describes planting in Qamishli, Amuda and Tel Arbid. A May 2025 activity account describes work in the Nofir area.
Documented outcomes
The association’s reports document planting at the named locations and participation in shared campaigns. These activity accounts do not provide a common long-term survival measure across sites. Campaign totals, Warshin’s contribution and nursery production are therefore kept separate rather than combined into a single impact figure.
Context & attribution
Residents’ participation is described in the November 2023 neighbourhood and village activities. The reports also refer to the care of newly planted trees as part of maintaining shared green spaces.
